A pencil hunts edges. It shifts in its angle; the line thickens and thins, points and spreads.

You're just taking a rock and pushing really hard and leaving behind parts of the rock, and other people can see that pressure. That's why nobody pays for pencil work. But there can be grace, too, and grace accords so much.
